STATE PAY RESPECT TO MESHTRU DR KS ASHWATH!
Posted date: 20/January/2010

It was of course a well deserved state honor at the final salute to Dr K.S.Ashwath of 370 films in Kannada but he deserved a better respect instead of cremation at the public place on the slopes of Chamundi Hills in Mysore. As a matter of fact there was no support from any segment for the best supporting actor of Kannada cinema!

The unparallel actor Dr KS Ashwath was consigned to flames at 5 pm on Monday evening. The body of the gem of an actor was moved from Javare Gowda park where it was kept from morning 8 am to 3 pm. After shifting the body to the nearby house it was taken on a procession to Sri Harischandra Rudra Bhoomi situated on the ‘Thappalu (slope) of Chamundi Hills’ near Mysore.

However the Chairman of Kanteerava Studios Mr Girish Mattannavar announced the naming of the garden that is coming up in Rs.55 lakh after Dr K.S.Ashwath. From this small consolation and Dr KS Ashwath memory very near Dr Rajakumar Samadhi in Kanteerava studios the right respect has not been bestowed on the veteran actor.

The Karnataka chief Minister Dr BS Yediyurappa was busy in attending the biannual ‘Paryaya festival’ in Udupi but his closets did not make it to pay the last respect. The Industries minister Murugesh came to pay last respect on behalf of the government, local MLA Ramdas, Mysore district commissioner Mannivannan took part in the final rites. Former

Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, MP H Vishwanath, Mayor of Mysore Purushottam, former minister HS Mahadev Prasad, M Shivanna, M Mahadev, KHB President GT Deve Gowda, KFCC President Dr Jayamala, Umasri, Jayanthi, Puneeth Rajakumar, Dr Srinath, Srinivasamurthy, Raghavendra Rajakumar, Rajesh, Rathnakar, Chetan Rama Rao, Umesh, Lokanath, Ramesh Bhat, Shivaram, KCN Chandrasekhar, Sa Ra Govindu, Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar, S Narayan, former MLA Somashekar and others paid last respect to the gem of actor Dr KS Ashwath.

Sri Bhanuprakash Sharma and team were present to narrate the hymns and take the proceedings as Dr KS Ashwath son actor Shanker Ashwath lit the fire to the octogenarian actor.

www.chitratara.com editor R Manohar reached Mysore (with President of PRO Association Nagendra, senior film PRO R Vijaykumar and Madhu a good friend) around 12 noon on Monday to cover the delectable actor of Kannada cinema Dr K.S.Ashwath final moments in life.
